Over 7 million people are without power along the US eastern seaboard in the devastating wake of Hurricane Sandy. In New York City the storm is thought to be responsible for a massive blaze that destroyed at least 50 homes. The city_s subway system has also been ground to a halt n officials say it could take up to 4 days to drain the water out of the tunnels. But the most dramatic scenario played out near Central Park where the arm of a construction crane snapped dangling precariously in the air 90 stories up.New Jersey was especially hard hit. A levee broke flooding several towns. It_s estimated that up to a thousand people will need to be rescued. Atlantic City was devastated with the downtown streets becoming part of the Atlantic Ocean.
